This is the part that catches most Nevada businesses out, and it is not a marketing question.
All advertising by a licensed contractor must include the name of the contractor's company and the number of the contractor's licence. NRS 624.720(4). The State Contractors Board names the website explicitly among the places that applies. The number belongs on the site, not only on the contact page, and missing it is a violation rather than a style choice.
The statute defines advertising broadly. It names signs, cards, markings on a vehicle, buildings, newspapers, magazines, airway transmission, the Internet, and any directory under a contractor heading. NRS 624.720(6)(a). So your Yelp and Angi profiles are advertising, and the number has to be consistent across all of them. A number that is right on the website and wrong on a directory is still wrong.
Three more rules follow from the same section and each one touches the page directly.
It is unlawful to advertise as a contractor without a licence in the appropriate classification, and an unlicensed person who advertises construction work must state in the advertisement that they are not licensed. NRS 624.720(1) and (2). The services your site lists have to sit inside what your licence covers.
It is unlawful to advertise using a licence number that does not correspond to a valid licence issued to you. NRS 624.720(5). A number carried over from a previous entity, or a subcontractor using the main contractor's number, is a violation on the page itself.
And it is unlawful to disseminate, as part of any advertising, a false or misleading statement of material fact intended to induce someone to use your services. NRS 624.720(3). Response times, savings claims and guarantees of your own all have to be supportable.
Outside construction the boards differ. A dental practice in Nevada cannot describe itself in a way that implies a specialty it does not hold, which decides the wording of a page before anyone optimises it.
